IAAI Partners

The International Alliance for Appreciative Inquiry (IAAI) Partners

Alder Advice are external advisers to health, social care, and housing organisations. All our work is underpinned by our belief that every person/ team/ organisation has assets and strengths and that these need to be recognised and built on. This core belief underpins our work at all levels e.g. with individual service users, individual staff, teams, and organisations. Our appreciative approach is an essential component of our values. We bring Appreciative Inquiry trained advisers, consultants, and trainers along with innovative AI based approaches to the Alliance. Together these enable the organisations we advise to:

  • Improve the services they commission, provide or regulate.
  • Develop, motivate, and retain their staff.
  • Create new partnerships.

Appreciating Church is a Christian ecumenical network. We encourage the church at a local and national level to engage people in an inclusive way, listening to ‘all the voices’, building on existing strengths and skills, counting blessings, and co-creating a resilient church as part of the kingdom of Heaven. We offer Appreciative Inquiry training and advice supported by the Appreciating Church resource book as a source of practical understanding of AI theory and practice, theological insights, experiences of AI within the Church, and worship material.

We seek to develop a self-sustaining Appreciative Inquiry community of practice across the churches, and encourage individual practitioner membership through our website https://appreciating.church , annual conferences, and a monthly online Appreciative Space. We were originally initiated by the United Reformed Church, in partnership with the Methodist Church, Quakers, and the Congregational Federation, with interest from individual dioceses of the Church of England and others. We maintain an informal network of contacts globally.

Appreciating People. We help make positive change happen, in organisations, communities, businesses, charities and individually. We use a variety of ‘strength-based’ approaches, such as Appreciative Inquiry. We focus on your strengths, and areas you are good at, rather than weaknesses, to create sustainable change and development.

We bring a wealth of AI training experience across the UK Public and voluntary sectors to the Alliance. This experience includes creation of an AI training approach supporting self-sustaining AI practice within organisations, development of a range of practical AI training resources sold across the world and the provision of international AI training courses.
