Portsmouth – Appreciative Inquiry into strength based adult social care approaches

Portsmouth had been working to implement strengths based approaches since 2021 and wanted Alder Advice to evaluate their progress to date and recommend next steps. We facilitated an Appreciative Inquiry Discovery and Dream process. It included: 1 to 1 Appreciative Interviews with key stakeholders, a series of Discovery and Dream workshops with different stakeholder groups that engaged 160+ people, a peer review of 50+ case files, and a review of performance data and improvement strategies and plans.

The “discovery” and “dream” processes have established a strong case for Portsmouth to continue to the “design” and “delivery” processes. Support for these phases is ongoing and is likely to continue until end of March 2025.
